LOUISIANA ART by New Orleans' Northshore Artist, DIANNE PARKS
Treme Brass Band
Original Painting
A brass band parade is a very common sight in New Orleans - for any occasion, large or small. Quite often parading through the narrow side streets, many parade-goers follow the main band down the street, just enjoying the music and dancing in the street behind the band, twirling decorated parasols and waiving handkerchiefs in the air. They are call the “second line” - or “second lining” - just like a jazz funeral, but without a body! This painting depicts the Treme Brass Band marching down Rampart Street.
Gallery wrapped, 8" x 10", fully painted 1½” deep sides, double signed & dated on reverse. Framed in black "gallery floater frame" so that painted sides remain visible.
